WSQ Implement Incident Management Processes (1 Day)

Recommended Program for SMCs & SICs
of All Premises

The WSQ Implement Incident Management Processes course is a nationally accredited training programme designed to develop critical leadership capabilities for managing workplace emergencies effectively. Aligned with Singapore’s Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) framework and SCDF regulatory requirements, this course equips participants with the essential knowledge, structured approach, and practical tools needed to lead incident response operations from start to finish.

This course is mandatory for CERT-appointed personnel, specifically those holding the roles of Site Main Controller (SMC) and Site Incident Controller (SIC). It is also highly recommended for Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) officers, emergency response team leaders, operations supervisors, facility managers, and individuals tasked with emergency preparedness within industrial, commercial, or high-risk environments.

Participants will gain a thorough understanding of how to plan and implement an effective incident management system, establish command structures, coordinate emergency response teams, and make sound operational decisions under pressure. The course emphasises the Incident Command System (ICS), enabling participants to assume leadership roles, manage cross-functional communication, and allocate resources effectively during emergencies.

Real-world case studies, guided scenario discussions, and role-playing exercises are incorporated to simulate incidents such as fires, hazardous material releases, medical emergencies, and other workplace crises. These simulations reinforce the practical application of concepts and strengthen confidence in leading site-level response operations.

In addition, participants will learn how to conduct post-incident evaluations and reports, ensuring their organisations not only meet compliance obligations under the Fire Safety Act and Workplace Safety and Health regulations, but also continuously improve their emergency readiness.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) under the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) framework, recognised by SkillsFuture Singapore. This certification affirms their competency in incident leadership and enhances their organisation’s preparedness, resilience, and compliance posture.

This WSQ-accredited program is essential for professionals responsible for workplace safety, emergency preparedness, and crisis response. Specifically designed to meet Singapore’s regulatory standards, the course is ideal for:

1)CERT Site Main Controllers (SMC) and Site Incident Controllers (SIC)

These professionals are responsible for site-wide safety policies and emergency preparedness. The course enhances their ability to coordinate response plans, align with CERT operations, and mitigate incident risks effectively.
3

Facility & Operations Managers
